Adeline Cartier

Musicienne curieuse, diplômée du CNSMD de Lyon en clavecin et en basse continue ainsi que du CNSMD de Paris en pédagogie, son intérêt pour les claviers anciens l’amène à jouer aussi de l’organetto, de l’orgue, du clavicorde, du pianoforte, seule ou en ensemble et à explorer des répertoires variés, de la musique médiévale au début du romantisme. Son goût pour la découverte la porte à s’intéresser à l’improvisation libre en collectif et à la musique contemporaine. Elle est accompagnatrice claviers anciens et enseigne la basse continue au conservatoire d’Aix-en-Provence.

Elle s’est formée notamment auprès d’Yves Rechsteiner, Jean-Marc Aymes, Sébastien Wonner, Michèle Dévérité et Marieke Spaans tout en bénéficiant des conseils de Pierre Hantaï, Bertrand Cuiller et Aline Zylberajch. Elle collabore avec divers ensembles - Actéa19, Ars Sonic, l’Ensemble Alceste, l’Ensemble Boréades - et a pu se produire aux festivals de Toulouse les Orgues, Ambronay, Verbier, Radio France Montpellier, Mars en baroque, Détours de Babel.

Adeline est finaliste du concours de musique contemporaine pour clavecin Prix Annelie de Man à Amsterdam en d’cembre 2021, lauréate du 3ème prix ex-aequo du concours de clavecin de Pesaro (Italie) en mars 2019 et demi-finaliste du concours Corneille en septembre 2018. Elle est lauréate de la fondation Royaumont (2016) et reçoit le soutien de l’ADAMI (2018) et du Mécénat Musical Société Générale (2021).

Biography

Attracted by the keyboards, the harpsichordist Adeline Cartier also likes to play pianoforte, organ, organetto and clavichord within different musical projects.She began her musical training with piano studying at the Conservatoire de Châtellerault. Her passion for Baroque music led her to the harpsichord.

In 2013, after two years of studies at the Conservatoire de Tours and the Conservatoire de la Vallée de Chevreuse, she was admitted at the CNSMD of Lyon in the basso continuo class of Yves Rechsteiner and the harpsichord class of Jean-Marc Aymes. In the same time, during two years, she continues to receive the advice of Sébastien Wonner at CRR Tours. During her last year of studies in Lyon, she did an exchange semester in Trossingen (Germany) with Marieke Spaans. She also studied the organ for two years at the Châtellerault conservatory. Holder of a master’s degree in pedagogy from the CNSMD in Paris, she is an accompanist and teaches basso continuo at the Aix-en-Provence conservatory.

Curious, she explores the repertoire around baroque music, from medieval to romantic music in solo or in a group. Her taste for exploring other relationships to music and the public led her to participate in 2016 at the creation of the show Maria-XIXe-Star with L’Ensemble Boréades. Always on the lookout for new discoveries, her interests extend to free improvisation and contemporary music.

She takes part of the Toulonnais baroque ensemble Actéa19 founded by Marie-Louise Duthoit and the ensemble Alceste founded by Maximin Catineau.

Adeline was finalist of the contemporary harpsichord competition Prix Annelie de Man in Amsterdam in December 2021, won the tied third prize in the Pesaro (Italy) harpsichord competition in March and was semi-finalist of the Corneille harpsichord competition in September 2018. She was also laureate of the Royaumont Foundation in 2016.
